Exit and emergency light testing

Employers have an obligation under Workplace Health and Safety legislation to undertake emergency lighting testing throughout the workplace. M2 Electrical can assist in ensuring emergency and exit lights are working by performing emergency and exit light testing to certify these essential signs are in working order. This ensures that your employees and visitors are able to exit a dangerous situation as safely as possible.

Our Emergency and Exit light testing services are performed to Australian Standard 2293.2 and customers receive the benefit of fully qualified electricians, meaning faults can be rectified on the spot.

RCD testing
For an RCD to be effective it must work and it must work quickly to prevent electrocution. Regular testing of RCDs ensures ongoing safety and prevention of electrocution or property damage. Our electricians will test RCDs using specialised equipment in accordance with AS/NZS 3760.2010 and issue a compliancy certificate for your records.
Thermographic scanning
High resistance joints and circuit overloading can lead to a potentially hazardous situation/s where an electrical fire may start. The result of this situation can be highly dangerous but also can have destructive consequences for business in terms of property damage and downtime.

Using infrared technology to measure the radiant heat pattern emitted from equipment M2 Electrical can assist customers to identify electrical risks before they become a hazard. In the case of a fault our electricians are on site to take immediate action to prevent any possible system failure or damage. Once testing is complete customers receive a detailed report containing documentary evidence of results.

Appliance test and tag
The aim of test and tagging is to determine if the appliance is electrically safe for personal use. First we undertake a visual inspection of the appliance to identify any damage or obvious problems. Our electricians then conduct an electrical test measuring earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity. All appliances that pass this two stage process are fitted with a durable, non-reusable tag, the appliance is logged, and a compliance certificate is issued.

The frequency of electrical testing is based on the minimum requirements as per Australian/New Zealand Standards and how hostile the environment is. To help you determine the appropriate frequency, our electricians will conduct a risk assessment on the workplace and work with you to develop a preventative maintenance schedule.

Maintaining lighting is important if businesses are to avoid risks which may arise from poor lighting levels. M2 Electrical provide relamping services for single faults or lighting groups such as entire shop floors or workplaces. These services replace and clean lighting components and fixtures, including lamps, ballasts and diffusers, ensuring workplace hazards arising from poor lighting are eliminated.
